Austerity Committee Suggests Jobs 2023 – The recommendations of the austerity committee are to reduce civil servants’ salaries by 10%, reduce ministerial spending by 15% and reduce the number of ministers from 78 to 30. The National Savings Committee is considering various proposals, including a 10 percent cut in civil servants’ salaries, a 15 percent cut in spending and a reduction in the number of federal ministers and advisers to state ministers from 78 to 30. The rest of the ministers will work on compensation, finalize their recommendations on Wednesday and submit the report to Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a decision on implementation.
According to the news channel, the National Security Council confirmed in an interview with a senior government source that the prime minister has finalized a proposal to reduce the number of advisers to the minister of state and the prime minister’s special assistant only.
IMurt ended the austerity proposal in the HPG program, which mainly requires financial stabilization. But the government is unwilling to implement the plan and has created a deadlock for two and a half months.
The NAC also prohibits public sector companies from borrowing through official references to prevent the use of estimates in provincial-level projects.
The austerity committee formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif continued to function in the Finance Ministry for the second day in a row. When the government increases the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, the government completes the proposal in the name of austerity. The government added three billion rupees to the Sustainable Development Goals programme, the largest ever spent by parliamentarians.
It is yet to be seen how NAK will deal with the losses of large public sector companies, as PIA’s annual losses have reached $67 billion, while Pakistan Steel Mills, Pasco Electricity Distribution Company and others have experienced heavy losses. Last fiscal year, the electricity sector alone suffered a loss of $1,600 billion. The Council considered a proposal to reduce defense spending, but the Defense Secretary said that would not be possible due to inflation and the shrinking Sheriff population.
The committee also discussed the issue of banning the purchase of local and foreign vehicles, removing all privileges for ministers and reducing the number of non-essential posts in some ministries and departments. A Finance Ministry official said that NAK is making big proposals, but it will be difficult for the current government to implement such proposals. This will only be a bickering club and the government will have a good influence instead of taking important decisions if the political temperature rises every day during this coalition government.

The committee consists of: (i) Nasir Mahmud Khosa (former civil servant); (ii) convoy with the Minister of Finance; (iii) SAPS on government efficiency; (iv) SAPM on Finance; Members; (v) Construction Advisor to the Prime Minister; (vi) Secretary, member of the Cabinet of Ministers; Members; (x) Chairman, Member of CDA; (xi) Chief Secretary (Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan) Member; (xii) Dr. Kaiser Bengali, Economist Member; (xiii) Dr. Farrukh Saleem, Economist / Analyst Member; (xiv) Dr M Zubair Khan, Economist / Consultant Member and (xv) Muhammad Naveed Iftikhar, Management Specialist.
The Board can appoint anyone from the public/private sector in this position. OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMITTEE: (i) reduce public expenditure and ensure fiscal discipline; (ii) take steps to simplify government work; (iii) review and rationalize management activities to achieve an optimal and intelligent organization;
